Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
My Passion…From the Heart
As Jeff and I were talking about what the Lord might be leading us to include in today’s email, the words heart and passion kept coming to my mind. Jeff said, “Just share your passion – from your heart!” O.K., will do!
We spend thousands of dollars on marketing, trying to make people aware of TeenServe mission trips so they would consider us and pray about where the Lord might be leading them when making their summer mission trip plans. Why? Because we know that attending a TeenServe mission trip changes lives! There is not one day that goes by that I don’t think about TeenServe and very few days that don’t include work on the next year’s TeenServe trips. God has put a passion in my heart for these trips because they are tools that are used to not only bring the love of Jesus to people who need a helping hand, but strengthen relationships between teens and their Savior. We have heard many testimonies over the years regarding how the Lord used TeenServe to work in the lives of His people.
A few years ago a “dad” came up to Jeff at a TeenServe workcamp and told him an uplifting story about his family. He spoke about how his son had been starting to get in trouble at home and school and ended up going on a TeenServe trip with his youth group the previous summer. When his son returned home from TeenServe he told his parents that he was completely changed and everything would be different. The boy’s parents couldn’t believe it – and wondered how long this “change” would last… As it turned out, his son was completely changed, so the parents decided to bring their whole family to TeenServe the following year to see what this ‘TeenServe thing’ was all about.
“But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news.” Romans 10:14-15
We (Jeff and Lori LaBelle) started TeenServe in 1999 and pray that as the Lord leads, we will see you next summer in Fairmount, Illinois!
